Community Wildfire Protection Plan

Chaves County has been developing an update to the County’s 2010 Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). This 2014 update document is designed to identify communities at risk from catastrophic wildfire throughout Chaves County and provide recommendations to mitigate the threat of wildfire to life and property. The document is a collaborative effort between the County and Municipal fire departments, State and Federal agencies and the public. As such we invite you to review the document below and provide your input on the plan. Comments can be submitted to Victoria Amato (contractor for the development of the plan) at vamato@swca.com. Comments will be received until Friday June 20th at 5pm.
