The Chaves County Board of Commissioners meets once a month.  The meeting is held at 9:00 a.m. on the third Thursday of the month in the Chaves County Commission Chambers of the Administrative Center located at #1 St. Mary’s Place, Roswell, New Mexico 88203.

The commission agenda is available at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting and is posted on the bulletin board located in the west hallway of the Administrative Center. Notice of any other regular meetings will be given ten (10) days in advance of the meeting date.

The Chairman or a majority of the commission members upon three (3) days notice shall call special meetings.  The notice shall include an agenda for the meeting or information on how members of the public may obtain a copy of the agenda.  The agenda shall be available to the public at least twenty-four (24) hours before any special meeting.

 Emergency meetings will be called only under unforeseen circumstances which demand immediate action to protect the health, safety and property of citizens or to protect the public body from substantial financial loss.

 Minutes of regular meetings and any other special meetings are available through the County Clerk’s Office.  The County Clerk’s Office is located at the Chaves County Administrative Center in Suite 110.  Their phone number is 505-624-6614.
